Spray on tan is also a relatively new method of indoor, sunless, fake tanning. There is a special booth where you need to go in to and are sprayed on by a mist. It takes a very short time and you will get the tan you desire.
It’s working…
The mist contains DHA, a chemical which reacts with the outer layer of the skin and colours it brown. It typically works like a tanning lotion but the good thing is that since it is sprayed on your body, it spreads evenly.
Lasting effect…
It lasts for only about 4-5 days as it works only on the outer layer of the skin. It is good for a very short time. But you can visit a spray tanning salon once every week to retain your tan.
For a longer effect…
-Always remember to exfoliate your skin to remove the dead skin so that it can penetrate a little deeper in your skin.
-Use water based moisturizer before going in for a spray tan.

There are lots of shades you can choose from depending on your skin colour.
Any side-effects…
There are no side effects of spray tanning. In fact it’s one of the safe ways of tanning. But if DHA causes any allergy it definitely won’t be life threatening as skin cancer.
Clothes…
As it’s only a mist and not paint, they do not even stain your clothes. If at all used in excess, don’t worry your clothes are safe.
Any Odour…
It depends on the sprays that are used. Many waterborne sprays are without any odour. However tanning salons generally use oil based sprays which can leave behind a starchy smell but it disappears after a few hours.
After Tanning…
Do not wet your body for at least 5 hours after the spray on tanning.
